After completing his fellowship in Cornea at Duke University, Steve began his solo private practice in 1992. Based in Lawrenceville, NJ, he specializes in complex cataract surgery, lens exchange, endothelial keratoplasty, and iris repair. In addition, he regularly performs a wide range of procedures, including glaucoma surgeries, corneal transplants, pars plana vitrectomy, and oculoplastics.

Steve has authored and co-authored numerous peer-reviewed articles and is widely recognized as a prolific contributor to Keranet, the ASCRS Cataract List, and EyeConnect. He has been an invited guest lecturer at numerous prestigious events, including Grand Rounds and national and international conferences. Notably, he served as the Wolfe Foundation Lecturer at Iowa University in 2019 and the Gold Medal Lecturer at the AUSCRS meeting in New Zealand. His lectures have also been featured at institutions such as Yale, the University of Pittsburgh Eye Center, the University of Mississippi, Northwestern University, and other teaching programs and conferences.

Steve’s YouTube channel, showcasing over 280 instructional videos on complex anterior segment surgery, has garnered a global following among surgeons and is frequently utilized in teaching programs. Renowned for pioneering innovative surgical techniques, he regularly receives referrals for challenging anterior segment cases from around the world.
